Setting up the Master Display from SDI input
This overview covers common setup procedures to ensure the correct signaling from the color corrector (in this case, Resolve) out to the Master Display for viewing mapped Dolby Vision content.
Working in Resolve
If you are working in Resolve and using the internal Dolby iCMU, and the 'dual SDI output' option is enabled, make sure the Desktop Video version matches to your Resolve version. Better to upgrade both.
The SDI signal, the settings of the SDI-HDMI converter and the monitor itself must match to each other. 12bit 444 RGB single link, for example.
Check the configuration of the SDI-HDMI converter. Sometimes the SDI signal could be incorrectly recognized as 422 even if it has been set to 444 in the color corrector.
Manually set the converter input format to '444' instead of 'Auto' will typically help in this scenario.
It is also necessary to verify the output SDI format by using a signal tester (Phabrix, etc.)
